  • Chess Tournament May 20th - Margaret Jenkins - need to organise drivers

  • Toonie Hike - June 5th- 19th (prizes given, DSI etc)

  • Bottle Drive this Saturday Suggested Bottle Blitz in June We are currently in second place for bottle drive fundraising

  • Sushi $627 - discussion about whether we should do sushi day as well as Subway Day. talked about Ali Baba kids meals. Robyn volunteered to do sushi day if we go ahead with it. Other suggestions: Lunchalicious. Booster Juice.

  • Special resolutions for Sanci and Alison –

1. term for pac president extended - approved
2. term for pac treasurer extended - approved
 


Vice President’s Message:

  • Mothers Day baskets - $300

  • School supply order forms are still tricking in - extended date??

  • Playground - District Supervisor letter/email cheque has been written and sent. Late September, at the latest for installation. Winner was the green playground.



Vice Principal’s Message:

  • Major Earthquake Drill June 1st - in afternoon - will be unlocking kiosk, search and rescue team will be present

  • Autism Awareness Walk - 20 people - Dillon McNeil honored walker - picture on Visca Website - passed around pictures

  • Survey for Students on Social Responsibility - post survey results 17th committee meeting to talk and present it on May 30th

  • Grade 4 patrollers - May 25th for training with Cst Drew

  • Grade 5s - lunch monitors - end of year celebration June 21st
     


Principal’s Message:

  • Discussed Greening Initiative - reducing the carbon footprint - meeting a few weeks back. Poster hanging out in the front foyer. Rogers had a really great turnout. Julie Kewley will receive an award for being an outstanding parent helper at Rogers.

  • Japan Fundraiser $809 oragami bookmarks and cranes

  • Grade 2s basket raffle $101.25

  • Seaquarium - Mrs Gauk has a booklet explaining what involvement the classes have in upkeep.

  • School for next year - enrollment 322 down to 297 16 division down to 14 divisions.

  • Class placements have now been taken care of. Classes are now set until September.

  • Kindie Orientation next week - organised leaders for the sessions

  • Bike Rodeo June 13th

  • Spring Valley Musical May 12th

  • Chilliwack Travelling Roadshow May 13th

  • Performing Asssembly May 26th (in afternoon)

  • Pro D Day 20th

  • Victoria day 24th

  • Zone Track meet 27th - Winners will go onto City Track Meet

  • Dates for all of these things are already on the blog - top right corner

  • Teacher fundraising - requests must be in a month before hand, to avoid conflicts

  • PAC Meeting dates for next year – discussion about skipping Decembers as it is such a busy time of year and turn out is never good - March’s will have to bump up a week to avoid conflict with Spring Break Robyn motioned

  • Treasure Island Music Week - Performing Arts – May

  • Synervoice - we will be purchasing this for next year

  • Cold and Flu - please keep your children home - pink eye outbreak in one of the classes

  • Good Food Box - high quality produce passed around brochure
