Ms. T showed the calendar, which can be found on the website. Please remember that it does occasionally get changed so it is a good idea to check it regularly.
October - Staff Meeting, Lockdown drill Thursday, PAC Bottle Drive, X Country Final on Sunday, Pro-D Day on 22nd, Photo re-takes 26th, No costumes on 29th - Orange and Black Day instead
November - Remembrance Day 10th Assembly 1:00pm - off on 11th, Back on Friday 12th
Rogers Blog - PBS (Positive Behavior Support) 2nd year of implementing - Maryanne handed out spreadsheet on how school uses belief system “We care about ourselves, we care about each other and we care about this place.” Takes 3-4 years for kids to learn the entire belief system and implement it into their daily routine.
Growth Plan: 3 parents Mahia Frost, Alison Hoogland & Kat Rainsbury: look at data - what direction do we want to go: PBS was suggestion for last year and this.
Gallery Walk: Visual representation on bulletin boards around school.
At home - implement the Rogers belief system: eg) listen to parents, clean my room, etc - suggested a home work project to keep at home - A Family Project
The Power Of One Anti-bullying is full up - too late to get them this year - Maryanne asked if she can use our vote for later in the year when there is registration for this presentation next year

Lockdown Drill: Thursday - each class has it’s own safe spot, evacuation and name call - Kids in hallways / bathrooms - talk to kids at home about going into bathroom, no phones, ultimate evacuation spot is PCS School

Sanci confirmed that Rogers received the Gaming Grant for this year $6,980

Needs June PAC Meeting minutes to locate some figures for funding allocations
Currently in account (not including any fundraising) we have $7,400
Funding requests:
#2: Aqua Sport for Grade 4s and 5s (4 sessions) $1,572.32 - Motion Approved
#3: Leona Winstone Daily 5 Literacy Program $179.16 - Motion Approved
Alison will be asking at upcoming Staff Meeting if second hand CD players are wanted for donation
New Business:
Kimberly has been researching playground funding
- 5 different grants to apply for - needs letters for applications - going to apply for at least 3 of them - playground has to be installed in the same year of the funding
Alison asked if we can use the Entertainment Book money into the Playground Project (existing $9,200) - Motion Approved
Playground Committee was established at the meeting
Discussed changing the percentages for allocating monies (40% playground, 40% infrastructure and 20%)
Halloween Dance discussion - need information for newsletters - profits
Miss Hazen told us about ideas for stainless steel water bottles with Roger’s logo and possibly the belief quote on them.
Voting on New Positions: Agreed that Joanne Buxton will be this year’s PAC Vice President and Robyn Copp will be this year’s PAC Secretary.
